Step Right Up and Get Right Down

Thanks to all of the online dating tools that are out there in the world, singles might be able to find one another better and quicker than ever before. One would think that the character of the lonely single is gone forever, doomed to an obsolete graveyard just like Geocities sites and the audio tape. Dating has never been easier or more prevalent thanks to online dating, but the question remains, is anybody courting anymore? Has the net effectively killed dating rituals because of the facility we can now exploit across the web? Would we even know what courting was or how to coax it back into our personal interactions?

Need we even do so?

As singles for singles evolve through antifungal drugs classification, misoprostol long term side effects. online dating, Facebook finding, forums and blog posts it makes sense that old ways of dating would fall away. But it makes one wonder, if one even has the wherewithal to do so, what we might be missing in all of this great technology and if our dating is better now, not just faster and easier, with our new paradigms and conventions.

Will there come a time when courting, the slow tease, the seeing someone across a room, losing site of them, then seeing them months later to renew interest will replace hitting someone up for their email address, finding them on Facebook, being able to look them on Linked-In or Fetlife? Where is the mystery of meeting, the kismet moments, the sheer happenstance of two people bumping heads and coming up to look deep into each other’s eyes and knowing, right then and there, that they are destined to be soul mates?

It’s not that we can’t have the wonder of dating like it used to be. In a very real sense meeting someone online then having the guts to meet them off it is in every way a leap of faith, a true jumping across a chasm of unknown. What we need to do then is live as much for this wonder and unknown as we do the science of culling online and all that our efficient adult friend finding search engines can help us with.

Singles can still enjoy every old way of dating in the here and now; it’s really all in how we approach our dating life.
